It started out as a boring evening. Nothing to do, weather's humid, still impatient with this little girl's no show... then we turned the computer on looking for a little light entertainment...Chooey , you've done it again!!! My god! Her entry about the drama-mama Chinese funerals was spot on plus a few other hilarious moments!!! G & me laughed so hard, I do believe there are still some residual tears in my eyes!!! Thanks for making my evening man!
For those of you curious enough pls go click on her site and enjoy your read. I totally agree that funerals have got to be one of the most expensive "festivals" around. For crying out loud, the poor person's too dead to care so let's go easy on the flashy bits and stop showing off!
My family has a morbid obsession with death. My mum and me have already picked out with pictures to use and what flowers to buy. For her, must use her glam black & white photo and no cheapo "buy-from-the-auntie-in-the-graveyard" orchids please! Roses or lilies in white preferred. As for me, you can use any damn photo you want, as long as it's not my awful Taiwanese 'ge-tai' graduation photo! Everything else, not an issue. Don't really care for flowers, I'll be too dead to notice anything anyway. Oh and for the sake of embracing the cliche, you must serve curry at the funeral!!! Really, what sort of a curry function (Chinese slang for funerals) would it be if there's no curry??? ;oP
